the March Madness...

The surf has been pretty decent this past month with a lot of nice weather to boot. Makes me think about how cold I used to be surfing this month just a few years ago. So as I transition from my 3/2 full suits to the minimal rubbers of spring, I'm trying to use these epic Florida temperatures to get into better surf shape. My goal is to enter the UCF Alumni Surf Challenge on April 27th at Pelican Beach, a couple of blocks from my regular beach. I'm hoping local knowledge, experience, and a heap of classic style give me the edge over the younglings. If I can make it out of one heat, then I think that's a win for me. Either way, I'm confident the Alumnus take the crown over the Kids this year, especially since J-Wall is now a working man, and on our side. But I've got three 30-minute training sessions I'm doing over the next few weeks, to help prepare myself for the challenge of catching enough scoreable waves in a short amount of time. We'll see how that goes... stay tuned!

Everyone who might've voted for the wrong person in November, I'm not looking to fight you. Just know that you're always welcome to change your mind.
