I was gifted some rideable waves for step-fathers day. Mason was up north visiting his grandparents, but he bought me lunch after this quick surf. Thanks Bud! The waves were mostly under knee high and closing out, with a few waist high runners available for the patient and fast paddlers. Grovelers unite! I tackled these squirrel-sized sets with a 7'6 Quiet Flight Sting Fish... it's a long rail but it fit just fine into the little pockets when I got going fast enough.
The video was edited on final cut pro from footage shot on an Ozmo Action5 camera clipped to my flip-flops in the sand. I'm really liking the quality of the new video camera and I'm working on a review blog for that now, stay tuned! But I have some decent pictures from a bunch of sessions in May that I'll post in a gallery when I get a chance.
The surf montage was cut to an iconic new wave track, released in '79/'80 by Joe Jackson. The record is a top-5 in my vinyl collection. Found it at the Beachside Retro shop in South Patrick Shores. Oldies new wave pop and punk, the soundtrack to my youth!
Track Title: Got The Time
Artist: Joe Jackson
Album: Look Sharp
It looks like we should see some shin to knee high trade swell for the next week or so. Fingers crossed there's another uptick, or a boat wake or something sooner than later. The summer season has set in, and any waves at all are better than none! Otherwise, I'm just doing yard work. Man I really need to book a surf trip. I hope you're surfing where you are! Yewwwww
